Using screw eyes as shaft holders
for wooden dowel axles, and snug-fitting tubing as shaft retainers, children
can build onto
many recycled materials, such as cardboard, detergent bottles, blister
packs, milk cartons, etc. The dowel shafts can be mounted
onto
almost anything, at any angle. Gears and pulley/wheels fit snugly onto
the dowel. Contains 3 sizes of pulleys, 10 complete sets of linear gears
(10-, 20-, 30-, 40-,
and 50-tooth) plus 15 worm gears, and 15 propellers. Components can be
dis-assembled and used again.
SolarDrives: Motor
pulley, propeller, any size pulley or gear by
using
the motor shaft bushing, and direct drive traction with o-ring tires.
Any size of toothed gear can be driven by the
worm
gear, which
increases
force while decreasing speed. Propellors can be used for fan mechanisms
or model airplanes, or a solar fan-boat. With the NEW 1.5 volt solar
p.v panels and AA battery holders, solar-electric charging stations
and simple electric cars become possibilities. [Batteries not included.] See
